Western Technical College Firefighter / Emergency Medical Responder Academy

Perfect for students passionate about public safety careers including Fire, Paramedic, or Criminal Justice.

  • Location: Tomah Emergency Service Building
  • Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00am–9:30am
  • Application due: March 1 (submit to Mrs. Seipp in Student Services)
Fire/EMR Academy Information

Destinations Career Academy: Heavy Equipment Operating

A fully virtual opportunity that prepares students for the Heavy Equipment Operators apprenticeship program.

  • Format: Completely virtual
  • Applications due: March 1 (fall) and October 1 (spring) to Student Services

Courses include:

  • Basic Equipment Fundamentals
  • Basic Equipment Maintenance
  • Basic Maintenance of Mobile Equipment
  • Construction Exploration
  • Basic Grade & Construction Math

West Salem High School Automotive Career Academy

Students focus on Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications, including Light Maintenance & Repair, Brakes, and Engine Repair.

  • When: Monday evenings
  • Season: September through May
  • Application due: March 1
